ICCS - INSTITUTE OF COMMUNICATIONS AND COMPUTER SYSTEMS

ICCS is a research institute affiliated with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and is the research host of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). ICCS is very active in programmes financed by the European Commission both as technical partner and co-ordinator. The scientific activities and research conducted by ICCS covers a broad spectrum including Hardware and Software technologies, computer network technology, mobile technology, digital and photonic technologies for communications, control and automation technologies, energy and power production technologies, biomedical and biomechanics technologies as well as information systems. Since its foundation in 1989, ICCS has followed closely the progress of the disciplines of electrical and computer engineering and has grown into a competent research institute in Greece and Europe.

Role in the project

ICCS leads WP4 that develops the mathematical formulas and algorithms that accomodate decision-making processes and interdependency studies based on collected data for environmental, socioeconomic and safety impacts of UAM operations. ICCS leads the software software development task regarding the implementation of use case related indicators and will be in charge of containerizing the analytics as well as designing and developing the infrastructure for the ImAFUSA framework. ICCS will also contribute to deliver a robust, efficient and high-fidelity modeling and simulation framework to perform validation of the indicators on a large scale. ICCS will finally deliver an advanced analytic that leverages data collected during the projects to develop an deep-learning based inference model for visual pollution assessment of UAM operation in different conditions.
